How To Fit A Bra
A bra is designed to cover, support and elevate the breasts. A well-fitting bra is important for a woman's posture, particularly if she has large breasts. A bra that doesn't fit can cause back problems, muscle tension, and even headaches. The most important thing to remember in choosing a bra is comfort.
Roughly 8 out of 10 women do not know how to fit a bra. They either wear sizes that are too small or too big for them. If the size is too small, the straps will feel tight around your chest and will compress your breasts. If it is too big, the bra will ride up your breasts and will look wrinkled and loose.
It’s easy to know how to get a good bra fit. First, you must learn how to measure for a good fitting bra. There are two parts you must measure, that is, your chest size and cup size. The chest size is the part of the bra that runs across the chest and around the back. The cup size is the part that holds the breasts.

Use a measuring tape to measure around your bare rib cage at the level just below your breasts. Add 4 or 5 inches to this number to get an even-numbered measurement. This measurement is your chest size. To get the cup size, you have to measure the fullest part of your breast at the level of your nipples, and then subtract the chest size from it. If the difference is up to 1/2 inch, then your cup size is an AA. A measurement of 1 /2 inch to 1 inch means an A cup, 1 to 2 inches shows a B cup, 2 to 3 inches a C cup, 3 to 4 inches a D cup, and 4 to 5 inches a DD or E cup.
Now, it’s time to learn how to fit a bra properly. Try on a bra. Slip your hands through the shoulder straps. While holding the under-bust bands of your bra, bend downwards to allow your breasts to fall into the cups. Close the bra using the middle hook. Bend around and raise your arms to see if the bra fits snugly and stays in place. If it doesn’t, try another size. Adjust the straps to a comfortable fit. Check the fabric or bridge between your breasts. This should lie flat on the breastbone. Have someone teach you how to fit a bra for saggy breasts. Raise your breasts so that she can get the measuring tape under your breasts for an accurate measurement.
Try on a variety of bras. Each style fits, fills and shapes differently. Some prefer cotton, others prefer synthetics or underwires. Choose a style that works best for you and remember to keep one thing in mind, which is comfort.
